How long do Milk & Honey wigs take to make?Updated 15 days ago

Most of our wigs, particularly human hair pieces, are made to order and typically take 4–8 weeks to complete before dispatch.

This timeframe allows our production team to carefully construct, customise, and quality-check each piece to ensure it meets our standard.

💎 Why does it take 4–8 weeks?

Creating a high-quality wig is a detailed, hands-on process.

Unlike ready-made items, many of our wigs are:

  • Individually constructed
  • Custom coloured and toned
  • Carefully styled and finished
  • Quality checked before shipping

In the wider industry, custom wigs can take several weeks to months depending on complexity , and even a single handcrafted wig can require dozens of hours of work .

This is why production time is an essential part of delivering a premium result.

✨ What happens during production?

Your wig goes through multiple stages:

  • Hair sourcing and preparation
  • Construction of the wig cap and lace
  • Hand-tying or machine construction
  • Colouring and toning (if applicable)
  • Cutting, styling, and shaping
  • Final quality inspection

Each step is done with precision to ensure the wig looks natural, feels comfortable, and lasts.

💁‍♀️ Do all wigs take this long?

Not all.

We offer two types of products:

Ready-to-ship items

  • Dispatched quickly from our Sydney facility

Made-to-order wigs (most human hair pieces)

  • Require full production time (4–8 weeks)

The product page will always indicate which type you are purchasing.

⚠️ Why some orders take longer

Occasionally, production may extend slightly due to:

  • Custom colour work or specific requests
  • Higher density or longer lengths
  • High demand periods

This is not about delay, it’s about ensuring your wig is completed to the highest standard.

💡 Our honest perspective

We understand waiting can feel difficult.

However, wigs of this quality are not instant products. The time invested in production is what allows the final piece to look natural, feel premium, and last.

💬 Need your wig sooner?

If timing is important, we recommend:

  • Choosing a ready-to-ship option
  • Reaching out to our team before purchasing

We can guide you toward the best option based on your timeline.

Important

Due to the custom and made-to-order nature of many of our wigs, orders cannot be cancelled once production has begun. We strongly recommend reviewing all product details and timelines before placing your order.
